Edan Lee is a Managing Director and head of China for Olympus Capital Holdings Asia. Olympus Capital is a leading Asian private equity firm focusing on the middle market and manages regional funds of US$1 billion and a RMB fund of 800 million, with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, New Delhi and New York.
Since its first agribusiness investment in 1998, the firm has deployed USD 600 million into the food value chain, from inputs (potash fertilizer, agrochemicals, animal feed) to cultivation (vegetable and palm oil plantations) to branded food products to restaurant chains, spanning China, Southeast Asia and Japan. The firm is currently the largest shareholder in Huaxia Dairy Farm, a leading high-quality milk producer supplying China’s largest domestic and multinational dairy brands for their premium products.
Prior to joining Olympus Capital in 1998, Mr. Lee served as Project Director for The AES Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, where he developed and financed significant foreign joint ventures in China. Previously, he was a management consultant with McKinsey & Co. in the US and in Australia. Mr. Lee holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and BS and BA degrees from Rice University.
